Mnohí N-sight nazývajú malým bratom N-central. Nie je to nepresné, ale zavádzajúce. Produkty zdieľajú patch engine a niekoľko spoločných modulov — Vulnerability Management, Asset View, SentinelOne integráciu — no ich vývoj pochádza od iných tímov s iným cieľom. N-central je pre tých, čo chcú maximálnu kontrolu. N-sight je pre tých, čo chcú aby to fungovalo bez toho, aby museli byť N-central expert.

Pre koho je N-sight vhodný

Odporúčam ho malým IT tímom a menším MSP, primárne pre prostredia do 200 zariadení. To neznamená že viac nezvládne — kľudne 2000 nodov — ale pri väčšom prostredí začína byť prehľadnosť a granularita nastavení limitujúca. Ak nepotrebuješ viac ako základný monitoring, automatizovaný patching, vzdialený prístup a jednoduché spúšťanie skriptov, N-sight dáva zmysel ísť tam namiesto N-central alebo NinjaOne.

Nasadenie — rýchle a bez bolesti

Inštalácia agenta, kliknúť, hotovo. Nie je tu veľa čo nastavovať pred prvým použitím. Patch management sa spustí automaticky po deployment agenta. Odporúčam urobiť jemný fine-tuning nastavení, ale základné fungovanie beží okamžite na rovnakom engine ako N-central — spoľahlivosť je preto solídna.

Platformy — Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, sieťové zariadenia

N-sight pokryje všetky hlavné OS vrátane iOS — spravovať mobily bez extra MDM nástroja je pre menšie prostredia praktické. Sieťové zariadenia možno importovať jedným kliknutím. Tu je ale slabina: monitoring sieťových prvkov funguje cez SNMPv1. Pre dnešné bezpečnostné štandardy je to limitujúce — SNMPv3 s autentifikáciou tu chýba. Na import stačí nastaviť rovnakú SNMP komunitu v N-sighte aj na sieťovom prvku.

Asset tracking only — skrytá perla

Toto je funkcia, ktorá N-sight odlišuje od ostatných. Ak spravuješ 100 zariadení a fakturuješ ich, môžeš do N-sight importovať ďalších 1000 zariadení ako asset tracking only — špeciálny template na site zákazníka. Za tieto zariadenia nič neplníš, ale máš kompletný inventár celého prostredia zákazníka.

Scripting — 600+ skriptov v knižnici

N-sight podporuje sh, js, vbs, cmd, bat, pl, php, py, rb, ps1. Automation Manager je jednoduchý na použitie, prístup k 600+ skriptom v Automation Cookbook priamo z platformy. Pre bežné automatizačné úlohy — self-healing, scheduled tasks, deployment — pokryje všetko čo malý MSP potrebuje.

Reporty sú funkčné, ale ak potrebuješ viac ako štandard, odporúčam ísť cez API. N-sight má dobre zdokumentované API a vlastné reporty postavené na stiahnutých dátach sú reálna cesta.

Licensing — per node a bundle

Cena je per node bez rozdielu — server, workstation alebo tlačiareň majú rovnakú cenu. Pre menšie prostredia existuje praktický bundle: 100 nodov + Take Control pre ad-hoc zariadenia + plnohodnotný PSA. Pre malého MSP alebo koncového zákazníka ktorý začína je to solídna vstupná možnosť s výhodnou cenou.

Halbbruder — keine verkleinerte Kopie

Viele nennen N-sight den kleinen Bruder von N-central. Beide teilen die Patch-Engine und mehrere Module — Vulnerability Management, Asset View, SentinelOne-Integration — aber ihre Entwicklung kam von unterschiedlichen Teams mit unterschiedlichen Zielen. N-central für maximale Kontrolle, N-sight für schnelles Deployment ohne tiefen Konfigurationsaufwand.

Für wen ist N-sight geeignet

Empfehlenswert für kleine IT-Teams und kleinere MSPs, primär für Umgebungen bis 200 Geräte. Das bedeutet nicht, dass es nicht mehr schafft — durchaus auch 2.000 Nodes — aber bei größeren Umgebungen werden Übersichtlichkeit und Granularität der Einstellungen zum Limit. Wer nicht mehr als grundlegendes Monitoring, automatisiertes Patching, Fernzugriff und einfaches Scripting benötigt, ist mit N-sight besser bedient als mit N-central oder NinjaOne.

Deployment — schnell und schmerzlos

Agent installieren, klicken, fertig. Patch Management startet automatisch nach dem Agent-Deployment. Ein leichtes Fine-Tuning der Einstellungen ist empfehlenswert, aber der Grundbetrieb läuft sofort — auf der gleichen Engine wie N-central, also mit solider Zuverlässigkeit.

Plattformen — Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Netzwerkgeräte

N-sight deckt alle wichtigen Betriebssysteme ab, einschließlich iOS. Netzwerkgeräte lassen sich per Klick importieren. Die Schwachstelle: Netzwerkmonitoring funktioniert nur über SNMPv1. Für heutige Sicherheitsstandards ist das limitierend — SNMPv3 mit Authentifizierung fehlt. Für den Import muss dieselbe SNMP-Community in N-sight und auf dem Netzwerkgerät konfiguriert sein.

Asset Tracking Only — verborgenes Highlight

Diese Funktion unterscheidet N-sight von anderen Tools. Wer 100 Geräte verwaltet und abrechnet, kann weitere 1.000 Geräte als Asset Tracking Only importieren — ein spezielles Template beim Kunden. Für diese Geräte zahlt man nichts, hat aber ein vollständiges Inventar des gesamten Kundenumfelds.

Step-brother — not a trimmed-down copy

Many call N-sight the little brother of N-central. Both share the patch engine and several modules — Vulnerability Management, Asset View, SentinelOne integration — but their development came from different teams with different goals. N-central for maximum control. N-sight for fast deployment without being an N-central expert.

Who N-sight is right for

Recommended for small IT teams and smaller MSPs, primarily for environments up to 200 devices. That doesn't mean it can't handle more — up to 2,000 nodes is possible — but at larger scale, clarity and settings granularity become limiting. If you don't need more than basic monitoring, automated patching, remote access and simple scripting, N-sight makes more sense than N-central or NinjaOne.

Deployment — fast and painless

Install the agent, click, done. Patch management starts automatically after agent deployment. Some fine-tuning is recommended, but out of the box it runs on the same engine as N-central — so reliability is solid.

Platforms — Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, network devices

N-sight covers all major operating systems including iOS — managing mobile devices without a separate MDM tool is practical for smaller environments. Network devices can be imported with one click. The weak spot: network device monitoring runs over SNMPv1 only. By today's security standards that's limiting — SNMPv3 with authentication is absent. For import to work, you need to configure the same SNMP community in N-sight and on the network device.

Asset tracking only — the hidden gem

This feature sets N-sight apart. If you manage 100 devices and bill for them, you can import another 1,000 devices as asset tracking only — a special template at the customer site. You pay nothing for these devices but have a complete inventory of the entire customer environment.
